The Wheelhouse, Nannup
Project Overview
Designed as a compact getaway in the heart of Nannup, The Wheelhouse was created for clients with Canadian roots and a strong connection to mountain biking, nature, and the surrounding pine forests. Conceived as a short-stay accommodation, the brief was to design a warm, functional retreat that welcomes guests seeking escape, whether for weekends on the trails or time spent slowing down and enjoying the character of the town. Despite its modest footprint, the home was designed to feel inviting, practical, and deeply connected to its setting.

Our Role
This was a Design & Build project, delivered by SWBC with our design team working closely alongside the clients. From early concept through to construction, we collaborated to translate the brief into a compact yet highly liveable home. Careful planning, attention to detail, and a focus on durability ensured the home supports its short-stay purpose while remaining welcoming and comfortable. The result is a thoughtfully crafted retreat that reflects both the clients’ lifestyle and the natural character of Nannup.
