Project Overview

Inspired by the client’s Danish heritage, this classic Nordic barn was designed to embody simplicity, warmth, and a strong sense of calm. The brief centred on creating a minimalist home that embraces the principles of Hygge — fostering comfort, connection, and enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures. Designed by Ingrid Spelman of Dunsborough Designs, the home balances modern elegance with natural materials, resulting in a residence that feels both refined and deeply welcoming.

Our Role


SWBC was engaged from the preliminary stages to work closely with the clients alongside the design team, with architecture by Ingrid Spelman of Dunsborough Designs and interior design by Leah from Page Eleven. Our role included providing technical input, buildability advice, and early coordination to support the design as it transitioned into construction. Through close collaboration, we ensured the design intent was carried through seamlessly, delivering a home that feels cohesive, calm, and deeply aligned with the clients’ vision.
